For decades, fly ash was seen largely as an industrial byproduct with limited value beyond disposal and storage. Today, that perception is rapidly changing. As India expands its infrastructure ambitions and looks for cleaner, more efficient logistics systems, fly ash is emerging as a critical resource for cement, roads, housing, and construction. Indian Railways now sees an opportunity not only to reduce transportation costs and pollution, but also to build a large new freight ecosystem around a material once considered waste.
