Was the Noida protest an ‘urban disruption’, as some suspect? Or, was the local expression of grievance amplified by some external elements, as some allege? These questions have arisen in the aftermath of workers’ violent protests at Noida. The investigations suggest that misinformation and instigation played a key role in escalating the situation. The protests made the headlines for some days. The investigation did not get the same attention.
