Introductory Memo
Every mass movement carries two stories. One unfolds on the streets through slogans, marches and public mobilization. The other often remains behind closed doors, hidden in meetings, funding trails, institutional networks and strategic relationships that rarely make headlines.
The ‘Sansad Chalo’ protest organised by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) is no exception. What started as a students’ protest turned out to be something else. This brought everything about CJP under scanner. Some even alleged foreign hand behind CJP and its protests. How much truth is there in these allegations?
A series of photographs, financial records, diplomatic engagements and historical precedents invite a closer examination of the ecosystem surrounding it. None of these elements, in isolation, proves coordination or influence. Yet the questions of influence cannot be ignored by any democracy.
